St. Louis Community College (STLCC) is the Missouri two-year college supported by the Junior College District of St. Louis City - St. Louis County, servicing 718 sq. miles.

History
In 1964 STLCC built three campuses: Florissant Valley Community College in Ferguson, Forest Park Community College in St. Louis, and Meramec Community College in Kirkwood.
Over the objections of the faculty and student body, in 1976 STLCC administration changed the names of the individual campuses to the format St. Louis Community College-Campus Name.
In August 2007, STLCC opened a fourth campus, St. Louis Community College-Wildwood, in Wildwood.
In addition, there are four satellite facilities throughout the area.

Organization and administration
Jeff Pittman, Ph.D., began his role as chancellor of STLCC in July 2015. Pittman previously served as the statewide vice president of corporate college services and online education at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana, and has served in wide variety of academic leadership roles for the college for the past 27 years in four geographic regions and the system office. Most recently, Pittman was instrumental in the reorganization and development of a lean organization for the delivery of Corporate College customized workforce training and services to business, industry, and individuals throughout the state of Indiana. Pittman also served as chancellor of Ivy Tech's Wabash Valley Region for 11 years, and simultaneously worked as the statewide vice provost of distance education for three of the years. Although brick and mortar enrollment declined under Pittman's leadership, the college's enrollment in online education doubled from more than 32,000 students per year in 2008 to 69,000 students in 2010. Pittman's doctorate in educational leadership, administration, and foundations is from Indiana State University. His master's degree in human resource development is from Indiana State University, and his bachelor's degree in business is from Indiana University. In 2017, while proposing a controversial layoff of full-time faculty, Pittman is reported to have received close to 75,000 dollars for housing and car allowance above his nearly 300,000 dollar salary for the years 2016 and 2017. The expense was seen as excessive by some faculty who were facing job loss under his leadership. Student protests also erupted under Pittman making regional and national news. In 2017 a popular blog, chancellorpittman.com, was started and it focused on the state of the college under the leadership of Chancellor Pittman.
Vote of no confidence in Chancellor Pittman 2017
On November 28th, 2017 the College's chapter of the NEA called for a vote of no confidence in Chancellor Pittman and the board of trustees. This call for a vote of no confidence came on the heals of a controversial and violent arrest of a faculty member at a Board of Trustees meeting as he challenged a rule that allowed for clapping for administrators in favor of a proposed mass firing of full-time faculty and banning applause for statements by students and faculty who opposed the layoff. Included in the NEA's call for a vote of no confidence was the statement by its President Robert Hertel, that the union was responding to "the levels of waste and mismanagement taking place at the college for YEARS."
Academic profile
The college grants Associate's degrees (A.A., A.S., A.A.S., A.F.A.), as well as Certificates of Proficiency (for completing a specified one-year course of study) and Certificates of Specialization (for completing a specified six-month course of study).
Athletics
STLCC operates as a single entity in athletic competition (as opposed to each campus operating as a separate program, which was the case prior to consolidation). Athletic teams are open to any eligible STLCC student, regardless of which campus the student attends.
The teams are known as the Archers (named for, and the athletic teams' logo incorporates, the Gateway Arch) and participate in the Midwest Community College Athletic Conference (MCCAC).
